This place is billed as "Houston's first certified green restaurant." You order at the counter, and your food is served to you. The menu is extensive. The high-protein "hempanadas" filled with beef and raisins are remarkably good, and the crab cake fritters are a crowd pleaser. A simple salad of "hydroponic" butter lettuce is surprisingly tasty, and the spicy fish tacos are great. There are 13 different pizzas here, with the steak version being a favorite.

It's a small cafe in the far northwest area of Houston only open for breakfast and lunch. Everything on the menu is made from local, organic ingredients, and each day there's a special "raw entree of the day." Enjoy a breakfast pastry with a hot cup of coffee on the wraparound porch when the weather is nice. But, get here early for lunch if you want to eat quickly, because with just 35 seats inside, you should expect to wait for a table, especially when the lunch crowd arrives.
