DASH-Design Antiques Show Houston launches its fall show Nov 5-8,at the corner of Gessner and I-10, under the white tents. DASH is a unique outdoor shopping experience bringing the charm of rural outdoor markets to an urban setting. DASH will feature all types of home furnishings including art, antiques, modern, industrial, mid-century, garden, architectural,textiles and collectibles. DASH shoppers will also discover jewelry, clothing, gourmet foods, gifts and more. DASH is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 10 am daily with an entry fee of $10 Children under 12 are free and pets are welcome. Food trucks, music and concessions will add to the festival-like atmosphere, and parking is free. DASH also offers a private shopping event -FIRST DASH- on Thursday, Nov 5th from 6 - 9 pm featuring DASH VODKA, food and music. Tickets are $25 per person, on the website or at the door.

When you see Good Dog's baby-blue-and-white food truck with cheerful red and gold lettering parked next to a coffee shop, museum or bar, it's hard not to pull over immediately and get your hands on one of its signature hot dogs. All of the condiments are handmade, the soft buns are from Slow Dough and the specially blended franks themselves are a savory mixture of 85 percent beef and 15 percent pork (all-beef and tofu dogs are also available). But it's the combination of all these items into fun, creative hot dogs that makes Good Dog special: Try the Sunshine Dog with cream cheese, dill relish and pickled red onions or the Guac-a-Dog topped with avocado, jalapeño, tomatoes, onions, roasted garlic aiolo, cilantro, cumin and lime.

It's hard to believe that food coming off a truck can be as inventive, or can taste as good as, what you get at H-town Streats. But then again, it's not every food truck that has trained chefs working at the helm. On any given day, you'll find Jason Hill and/or Matt Opaleski manning the truck, which means that crawfish taco with Tabasco aioli is gonna taste like a lot more than the $3 you're paying to eat it. In fact, whether it's their infamous boudin balls with creole mustard, their fried avocado taco with cilantro slaw, their burger with sautéed mushrooms and cheese, or their watermelon agua fresca, pretty much everything that you try at this truly gourmet food truck is going to be a winner. The menu changes often, too, so no need to worry about eating the same old, same old. Even if you followed the truck around like a die-hard disciple, the menu is extensive enough that you'd still be able to enjoy a different meal every day. Food sells out quickly, so try to visit them at the beginning of service.

Melange is street food in a city not known for that style of dining - combine that with quality ingredients and attention to detail, and it's easy to see why it's become so popular so quickly. Every morning, the affable and talkative Sean (this is a one-man operation) picks up some fresh ingredients, draws the day's menu on a chalkboard and sets up shop in the parking lot of Mango's bar and music venue. Standards like banana and Nutella, and ham and cheese are almost always available, and daily specials often include creative crepes like fig and goat cheese, and falafel. Each crepe is made to order, so the line can move slow - bring water if it's hot out, or stop by the taco truck next door for a watermelon water.

The pastor tacos are well-marinated and flavorful. The lengua is juicy and tender, the chicharron are fatty and decadent, and the barbacoa is hearty and melts in your mouth.
